About the Tug McGraw Foundation

TMF was established by Tug McGraw in 2003 to raise funds to enhance the quality of life of children and adults with brain tumors and their families by stimulating and facilitating research that addresses the physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual impact of the disease. Recognizing that other areas of brain research - such as traumatic brain injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder- inform the science surrounding brain cancer, TMF has widened its scope to include a broader spectrum of the neuroscience to support advances in medical care and quality of life for our nation’s battle-wounded, ill and injured service members. www.tugmcgraw.org

TMF Hosts General Chiarelli & Rusty Staub at Headquarters

“Visiting Pathway Home was very important for me,” Chiarelli said after meeting with residents of the program. Post-traumatic stress disorders didn’t originate with the recent wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, he noted. “They just didn’t call it that. … This has always been a problem. The crime is we didn’t do anything about it. One Mind is committed to changing that.”

Tom McGraw Cycles for the Tugger and TMF

"I wore my Foundation cycling suit every other day and early into the first morning I had a woman ride up next to me and tell me she loved Tug!  I wasn’t sure if she was speaking metaphorically or literally, but I was relieved when she told me she was 9 when the Amazing Mets of 1969 won the World Series."

"Keep pressing on to the goal"

TMF Board Member Making a Difference on the Greens. My father, Ray, was diagnosed with a glioblastoma multiforme brain tumor in the summer of 2002.  He fought for his life courageously for seven months before passing away from this vicious disease in January 2003.  For the past seven years, I have kept the memory of my dad alive by actively raising money for the Tug McGraw Foundation with the hopes of helping others who are or may experience what my dad went through.  I, along with my family, continue to follow his motto “keep pressing on to the goal”…and that is exactly what I am trying to do through this fundraiser. Peter Lang

Guest Blogger-CEO Ed Chatlos

I've been on Avastin for 18 months now and it's delivered what it promised.  My large, olive size tumors are now barely visible in my regular MRIs.  Again, I believe my journey could have been shortened, if I had a network of other patients to talk with."  Read Full Blog.
