Tug McGraw Foundation Gala
Held in St. Louis

The Tug McGraw Foundation held its third annual fundraising gala, “Denim & Diamonds: An Evening with Tim McGraw and Friends”, on Friday, Nov. 2, 2007, at Grant’s Farm in St. Louis.  Tim McGraw, GRAMMY® Award-winning musician and honorary board chairman of the Foundation, along with nearly 400 attendees, honored individuals who have made a difference in the fight against brain tumors.

The event, sponsored by Anheuser-Busch Companies and American Airlines, raised more than $300,000 for pioneering brain tumor research focusing on quality of life issues for brain tumor patients and their caregivers.  Bob Costas, EMMY® Award-winning sports commentator, hosted the event and Susie Busch-Transou served as event chairwoman.  In addition to Tim McGraw and the Dancehall Doctors, Faith Hill, Lori McKenna, Lance Miller, country music duo Halfway to Hazard, and brain tumor survivor David M. Bailey performed.

The Tug McGraw Foundation is a nonprofit organization established by legendary New York Mets (1965-1974) and Philadelphia Phillies (1975-1984) left-handed relief pitcher, Frank Edwin “Tug” McGraw, his son Tim McGraw, and his friend and caretaker Jennifer Brusstar, before his death from a brain tumor in 2004.
